FAQs

As a professional photographer, I want to make sure all of your questions are answered before booking a photoshoot with me. Here are some frequently asked questions for both my newborn shoots and outdoor family shoots:

FAQs – Newborn Studio Photoshoot

  • Anytime after your 20 week scan is a good time to start thinking about booking your newborn shoot. It's best to secure your spot in advance as I can get booked up quickly.

  • I like to book newborn photoshoots for 10 days after your due date. Newborns are most sleepy and malleable during this time which makes for the best photos. If your baby arrives early or late, we can always adjust the date accordingly.

  • The shoot usually takes around 3+ hours. This may seem like a long time, but it allows plenty of time for feeding and comforting your baby. I want to make sure that your baby is as comfortable as possible throughout the shoot, so we can take our time.

  • No need to worry about food! I will provide you with snacks and refreshments throughout the shoot. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let me know ahead of time so that I can accommodate your needs.

  • The only essential thing you need to bring is food for your baby. It's also helpful if you can bring a white baby vest as it will be used in some of the photos. Additionally, if you have any special blankets that you would like to incorporate into the photos, feel free to bring those too.

  • I suggest wearing simple and comfortable clothing in solid colours or subtle patterns. Avoid wearing anything too bright or busy as it can be distracting in the photos. It's also helpful to wear something that you feel comfortable nursing in.

  • Absolutely! I love capturing photos of the whole family during the newborn shoot. Just let me know ahead of time if you would like to include siblings in the photoshoot.

  • I aim to have your photos edited and ready for viewing within 10 days of the shoot. We will schedule a time for you to come back to my home studio to view your gallery and choose your favourite images.

I hope this has answered any questions you may have about newborn photoshoots. If you have any further questions or would like to book a shoot, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to capturing these special moments with you and your new baby!

FAQs - Newborn at Home Photoshoot

  • Featured rooms tend to be the nursery, parents’ bedroom and living areas like TV room. As it’s a natural light shoot the most photos will be taken in the brightest room. When I pop over to your home prior to the shoot I will identify which rooms we will use.

  • I like to get started at about 10am Monday to Friday. However if your family room is bathed in natural light at noon then I’ll come then. Timing is individual to most houses, especially in the summer months when the days are much longer.

  • I suggest wearing simple and comfortable clothing in solid colours or subtle patterns. Avoid wearing anything too bright or busy as it can be distracting in the photos.

  • I find at home shoots take about 1-2 hours. As it’s baby led then an allowance is made for feeding and nappy changes.

  • 100%. We must not forget our furry friends!

  • I aim to have your photos edited and ready for viewing within 10 days of the shoot. We will schedule a time for you to come back to my home studio to view your gallery and choose your favourite images.

 FAQs - Outdoor Family Photoshoot

  • I find that the early morning before the sun gets too high or the late evening during golden hour is the best time for outdoor family photoshoots. The lighting is softer during these times, which creates a more flattering and natural look for your photos.

  • No need to worry if your child isn't in the best mood on the day of the shoot. I will work with you to change the energy of the shoot, and we will find ways to bring out the best smiles and natural expressions from your child. Sometimes, it's as simple as waiting at the bottom of a hill while your child runs towards me. We will work together to make the shoot as fun and enjoyable as possible for your child.

  • If it rains on the day of the photoshoot, I will suggest rescheduling to a later date. However, if rescheduling isn't possible due to a family gathering or other commitments, we can explore outdoor locations with cover or indoor locations as alternatives.

  • If your child is sick on the day of the shoot, I will suggest rescheduling to a later date when everyone is feeling better. The health and safety of your family is my top priority, and I want to make sure that everyone is feeling their best for the shoot.

  • No need to worry about matching outfits! I suggest wearing similar tones and pastel shades such as greens, pinks, blues, greys, and browns. I can help you with your outfit choices and guide you through the process of selecting clothing that complements your family's style and personality.

  • I aim to have your photos edited and ready for viewing within 10 days of the shoot. We will schedule a time for you to come back to my home studio to view your gallery and choose your favourite images.

Kind words

Celine was wonderful in every way. She invested a lot of time preparing for the photo shoot, nothing was rushed and she made us all feel at ease. She was brilliant with all 3 of our children so was able to capture some very special moments that we will treasure forever. Thank you Celine!
