Why I Don't Use Props for Newborn Photoshoots

As a newborn photographer, I believe that less is more when it comes to capturing the beauty of your precious little one. Many parents choose to book a newborn photoshoot with me specifically because I do not use props like buckets, bowls, flowers, or hairbands in my photos. Why? Because I want your baby to be the hero of the photoshoot.

The beauty of simplicity

Using props can be tempting, as they can add a cute or whimsical touch to the photos. However, they can also be distracting and take away from the true star of the show: your baby. When you look back at these photos in the years to come, you want to remember your baby just as they were in those early days - tiny, delicate, and absolutely perfect. By keeping the focus solely on your baby, we can capture those fleeting moments in a way that will truly stand the test of time.

Creating a natural look with textured blankets and wraps

Of course, this doesn't mean that your baby will be left completely bare in the photos. I do use a few simple props, such as textured blankets and wraps, that add a touch of softness and comfort to the images. These props are designed to enhance the beauty of your baby, not detract from it.

Timeless images

Ultimately, my goal as a newborn photographer is to create timeless, natural images that showcase the unique personality and beauty of your baby. By keeping the focus solely on your little one, we can achieve just that. So if you're looking for a newborn photoshoot that celebrates your baby's natural beauty, free from the distraction of props, then look no further.
